A Chinese blue and white covered butter dish with Batavian ware rim, Yongzheng / Qianlong, ca 1735, ca 6.7 cm. high, 9.8 cm. Ø and 13 cm. wide.
With slightly concave-cylindrical body and looped ears, the wall decorated with peony, bamboo, prunus, rocks and a vase, the rim with a band of swastika-shaped diaper pattern, the lid with blossom sprigs, the rim with a band of various flowers within rectangular cartouches, the knob with a flower, body crack and glaze frittings (images #15-17).
