Stored in private cellar up to today. Bottle in outstanding condition: very good filling level, cork, color, capsule, label, no leakage. Fully mature and therefore drinking well now, or cellar for next 20 years.
A wine to cellar for years! A traditional old fine Rioja wine inspired in the 19th century Bordeaux "claret" vinified and matured in wooden vat for 12 months, without temperature control, and then racked to cask where a selection of the finest barrels was chosen to be aged for 10 more years. The wine was racked once every 6 months in the first 8 years using the traditional cask-to-cask method. Bottled in 1966 directly from the cask. Not filtered.
Vintage 1955 was an outstanding year in Rioja. This vintage was top-rated "Excellent" by the Regulatory Council of La Rioja: the third time in the 20th century after 1934 and 1948. This rare red wine was not marketed and just a few hundred bottles were stored in the old "cemetery" cellar in Haro village.

Packed in a special wine box officially certified by UPS / DHL. Bottles are packed individually, one by one, and wrapped in a 3 layers bubble wrap.
