An onyx (black agate ) bead talisman depicting a Southeast Asian black bear from the ancient Burmese culture, Pyu States,
First Millennium AD.
In good condition. It has been cleaned, but the nice antique patina is preserved. Original, ancient, hand cutting, carving, boring and grinding. The holes are ancient, hand-made, irregular. Traces of use and age on its surface.
Purchased in 1994/Mandalay by Dr. Zelnik on the local art market .
