The story of the icon "The Undrunken Cup" is related to the life of a retired military man from the city of Tula, who constantly got drunk and could not give up wine despite the poverty and illness that befell him. The man had a dream in which the old man ordered him to pray before the icon of the Mother of God in the Serpukhov monastery. How can a person go to the monastery: without money and without legs. But the dream is repeated 2 more times, after which the old man crawls to the monastery. No one in the monastery knew the icon of the Mother of God "Insatiable Cup" and there was no way to pray. Then someone guesses that this person is talking about the icon with the image of the cup, which is hung on the sacristy of the corridor of the cathedral church, on the other side of the icon you can really see the inscription: "Undrinkable cup"! The newly acquired icon was brought to the temple and a solemn prayer was held in front of it. From Serpukhov, the former drunkard returned completely healthy and did not want to drink anymore.
