Carlton Ware - Blue Royal Art Deco Pen Holder with New Mikado Pattern Wonderful and very rare art deco Carlton Ware ceramic pen-holder. It is painted with the Blue Royal colour and decorated with the famous enamel & gold “New Mikado” pattern. The item measures about 17x9.5cm in diameter and 2cm in height (without the pen holder) and 9cm with the holder in upright position. The pen-holder itself is probably made out of Bakelite. Below it carries the Carlton Ware mark. It is in good condition (no chips, no cracks nor restorations) with traces of its age and use as can be seen from the pictures. Also, the gold of the pattern and the rim are in very good condition. Weight about 430g.
