A baroque abstraction of bold sobriety and solid evanescence.
A rarefied reference to the 'chamber of wonders', to nature, to the bizarre and fragile world of insects that evolves resiliently into infinite varieties of forms.
The object is stripped of technical and aesthetic artifices to leave room for the conscious essentiality of contemporary design, the splendour of Baroque is turned into extreme simplicity.
A delightful object with a sculptural/functional soul with a high emotional content, born from the union of artistic craftsmanship and contemporary art. Essential and ancestral functions are embodied in a graceful roughness.
The top, made of a thin sheet of polished brass, has an irregular shape and is modelled by hand by the craftsmen of Rua Catalana, the home of Neapolitan artistic craftsmanship. The structure consists of metal profiles that were shaped directly by designer Riccardo Parmiciano Borgström and welded together.
As a result of the crafting process, this artwork is one of a kind and belongs to an unlimited serie, signed by the artist.
Every imperfection and scratch is part of the deliberately visible craftsmanship process.
