Vintage “Art Deco” Armchairs by Gyula Kaesz, end of 1930, Hungary Very rare pieces from the late 1930s by Lajos Kozma’s colleague, designer Gyula Kaesz. Vintage piece excellent chemically cleaned condition” The armchairs are all original, including Shellak polish, excellent collector condition with beautiful patina. Solid walnut wood and completely walnut veneered frame, with curves typical of Gyula Kaesz, cross bracing and the slatted, split backrest. From 1919 to 1952, he was a teacher at the School of Applied Arts (later: College), then between 1952 and 1958 he was the director of the College of Applied Arts. He created the department of industrial design. His editorial activity is also significant: he was the editor of the trade journal A Bútor between 1935 and 1938.
