1985 Dalva, Presidential - Colheita Port - Buteljerad år 2016 - Porto - 1 Flaska (0,75 l)

1985 Dalva Presidential Colheita Tawny Port 1 x 0.75L 1 Bottle – Bottled in 2016 Port Wine DESCRIPTION In 1933, having just arrived from Brazil, Clemente da Silva realized his lifelong dream, creating an excellent wine house that would lead him to the globalization of his business: C. da Silva – resulting from the abbreviation of his name. A year later he registered the brand Dalva, which results from the contraction “da Silva”. With a simple and very Portuguese sound, success was easy to achieve in different markets. Looking for an activity in which to invest the capital from his business in Brazil, the young entrepreneur takes advantage of the close collaboration with the company Corrêa Ribeiro e Filhos, founded in 1862, and owned by his wife's family, to build up his initial stocks and give the first steps in the business, with Vintage Ports from 1896, 1912 or 1920 being famous. Combining centuries-old knowledge and techniques with new technologies and innovation, Dalva's portfolio is unique and distinct, presenting an unparalleled offer of Colheita Port Wines, which include unique and limited editions, the classic Vintage Port Wines, and a range exclusive range of White Port Wines, culminating in the aged and dated Golden White and Dry White collection. WINEMAKER: José Manuel Sousa Soares. AWARDS/RECOMMENDATIONS 96 Points, Trophy Winner & Gold Medal, International Wine Challenge Gold Medal, Concours Mondial de Bruxelles 92 Points, CellarTracker WINE VARIETIES: Traditional from the Douro, such as Tinta Barroca, Tinto Cão, Touriga Nacional, Tinta Roriz & Touriga Franca. VINIFICATION The fermentation process is interrupted at the ideal time, in accordance with the traditional method of producing Port Wine, which includes stopping fermentation through the addition of brandy of wine origin. This is followed by a prolonged aging in wood, which gives these wines complex aromas and flavors. They are wines from a single harvest, which reveal the character of the year. Aging in casks continues until bottling, with the date indicated on the back label. TASTING NOTES A rich nose, highly complex, offering a wide range of aromas, predominantly featuring evolved notes of roasting and caramel. The traditional “vinagrinho” is very present, in harmony with the vibrant acidity also felt on the palate. Dense and full-bodied, with spices and dried fruit on a long-lasting finish. SERVING An exceptional wine, well-suited for pairing with a range of desserts, particularly those crafted with eggs or dried fruits (almonds, hazelnuts, walnuts). It can be enjoyed on its own, at the end of a meal. Serve at a temperature between 12ºC and 16ºC. PLEASE NOTE: This is a recurring auction. The seal number(s) you see on the photos might differ from the one(s) on your bottle(s).
