A pair of framed Sarreguemines decorative tiles.

Tile One is depicting an artisan mending pots as shown in the image and the vendors sign.
Surrounded by pots, jars and plates his young customer looks on whilst he displays his skills. The artisans' second sign lists the various items that he mends and repairs.

Tile Two is depicting an artisan document writer as shown in the image and the vendors sign.
Positioned at his desk the artisan is preparing a document for his young customer who looking. The artisans' second sign lists the various services that he provides which includes marriage proposals.

These decorative tiles are simply enchanting and were produced by the "Faiencerie de Sarreguemines" in the 19th century using the illustrations by the famed French artist Froment Richard.

The frames are 31cm x 31cm whilst the tiles are 20cm x 20cm.
