But the basement of the ancient house, occultist Von Straumm created a secret laboratory in which he works diligently. Von Straumm is the leader of the "Emerald Dawn", a mystical society that seeks to connect lost knowledge and ancient rituals to change reality.
But when you meddle with the dark powers, you have to be very careful which words you read in certain forbidden books. During an attempt at summoning, Von Straumm mistakenly summons into this plane of existence an abomination that has been dormant for centuries. That manifestations has been crystallized by a hastily pronounced protective counter-spell, together with a phalanx of Von Straumm himself, severed by the filthy creature in his few moments of awakening.
