Glenmorangie - Signet - Original bottling - 70 cl

This single malt was made from barley called "chocolate malt" by in-house expert Bill Lumsden.

A non-chill filtered version that results from the blending of first fill bourbon casks, some new casks and oloroso sherry casks. Long after, the date, incense and lily, emanating from the empty glass, signify this version that takes its name from a standing stone known as the Cadboll Stone.

Nose: elegant. Soft notes of butter, mandarin and flowers (lavender, violet) contrast with other drier ones such as burnt wood, soot and citrus zest. The spicy character of Glenmorangie is then fully expressed.
Palate: lively, angular. At first, it is “bourbonne” (varnish, vanilla, pecan nuts). Then, it becomes black fruits (blackberry, blueberry), with notes of honey and yeast. Flowers and spices are also present.
Finish: soft, creamy. Finely woody, it reveals notes of toffee, mint and truffle. Fruity (black grape), it is also floral and spicy.
