This is the scarce 1914 First Edition Large Deluxe Portfolio with original publisher binding and hardback boards and hand made rough cut paper which are bright and unspoiled throughout decorated profusely with drawings, renderings and period photogravures.

268pp in very good fine condition making this a very limited and sought after book which was quite groundbreaking at the time

Wookey Hole. Its caves and cave dwellers by H.E. Balch is one of the classic books about caves from the early 1900s. Balch was the doyen of Mendip caving during the period and illustrated his book with photographs by John Savory and artwork by John Hassall.

The production quality is high and this is a fine, large-format book about the cave's archaeology and description of its passages.

This is an important first edition in good condition: a real collectors' item.
