Here is a beautiful dioptase specimen from one of the most famous localities for the species: Renéville in Congo Brazzaville!
It consists in a geode featuring perfectly crystallized and well individualized dioptase crystals, the focal crystal being 1.5 cm in size.
The crystal quality is really fine, you can notice that a soft backlight reveals the strong internal colour and translucency of the dioptases!
These bright green crystals are scattered over chalcedony quartz, sometimes bluish due to chrysocolla inclusions or replacement. Micro dark heterogenite concretions decorate nicely the dioptases, adding contrast of shape and lustre.
