Rare limited printing - the Justification on the verso of the title page explains that just 1200 copies were produced.

Quarto, pp 621, a little age-toned and with the occasional blemish, the title page is creased, illustrated with over 500 engraved text figures, bound in dark green cloth, a little worn, the corners are bruised, the bottom edge is a little scuffed, the top of the spine is a little frayed and torn.

A duplicate from the library of East Malling Research Station, one of the major fruit establishments of the United Kingdom, if not the world. There are neat stamps on the front endpaper, and a shelf label on the spine. The original paper covers are in very good condition, though there are traces of a tape residue, and another stamp on the upper cover.
Otherwise there are no other library markings.
