Collectible and masterpiece " Salomé " by Tetsuya Ichimura , only 500 copies has been edited in 1970
This one is N° 024, noted and signed in Kanji on slik paper with incrusted threads.
Inspired nudes from the 1960's, under the influence of Aubrey Beardsley and Alastair ( Oscar's Wilde illustrators
and shot in a style reminiscent of a cross between Provoke and Eikoh Hosoe
A beautiful edition of Japanese nudes with strong contrats and graphic effects. High quality of print, heliogravure, the blacks are deep, almost tactile like silk.
The texts are in Japanese and Greek langage ,about Salomé's mythe.
At the end, 15 pages with original Oscar Wilde 's text in English with Aubrey Beardsley's famous drawings
You will note that the Wilde's 1st edition was released in 1891 in French langage, 1893 in English and the illustated edition with Aubrey Beardsley 's drawings in 1919.
Stayed in very good conditions ( more than 50 years old) ,
The slipcase has some traces and slights scuffs visible unde a certain angle ( photos) , Also small bubbles on the back cover paper on the top edge ( photo)
The leather cover of the book is clear, s a small bump on one corner and a slight fold at the back ( photo)
Inside the black double-pages are clear ( not always the case)
Some pages has been a bit too wide opened and let slights white parts visible on the black .
You will note that as the print method is heliogravure, the white parts in front of black photos let black traces ( photos)
Stayed a fine and rare work.
