A rare natural design banded bead talisman pectoral from the ancient Central Asian culture.
1st Millennium AD.
In good condition. It has been cleaned in a tumbler,so its surface is shiny and smooth, but the nice antique patina is preserved. Original, ancient, hand cutting, carving, boring and grinding. The holes are ancient,hand-made,irregular, probably over drilled with modern techniques to make the piece wearable when the ancient holes are obstructed. Traces of use and age on its surface.
Purchased mid 90's in Strasbourg by Dr. Zelnik on the local art market.
