Castello di Brolio Chianti Classico Appellation: Chianti Classico Docg Producer: Barone Ricasoli Year: 1997 - 1998 Grapes: Sangiovese 95%, Colorino 5% Soils: The vineyards lie on five main geological formations: Macigno del Chianti (sandstone), Scaglia Toscana (galestro), Monte Morello (alberese), Marine deposits (sandy deposits with clay in depth) and Ancient fluvial terrace (silty deposits with clay). Harvest: The Sangiovese was harvested from September 20 to October 1, Winemaking: Fermentation in stainless steel at a controlled temperature of 24°C-27° C, with maceration on the skins for 14-16 days. Aging: 9 months in second and third passage tonneaux.
