Tsumeb is one of the most mythic localities for the mineral collector. There, the unlikely combination of several geological factors made possible the occurrence of a wide variety of finely crystallized mineral species, to such and extent that this deposit set the highest international standards for several species over the second half of the last century.
Here is a beautiful malachite specimen from this famous mine, featuring a 1.2 cm in diameter 'urchin' spray of fibrous, satin lustre and bright green malachite on a contrasting translucent white calcite geode.
