Octomore 8.2 is the second component of this series. For maturation, three different wine barrels containing a third of the spirit already for 6 years were used. These are barrels second filled with French wine (Mourvedre and Sauternes) and Austrian. The spirit was then transferred to a new amarone barrel in which it aged for another two years. Nose: smoky and peaty, red fruits, anise and sweets. After a few moments in the glass, floral and tropical fruit notes appear. Mouth: warm and sweet. Small touches of smoke add to the full fruity notes. Adding a drop of water brings out the salty influences and fresh lemon. Finish: smoky, peat, barley and cherries.
