Mortima was a french brand from the company ”Cattin & Cie” in Morteau. The city of Morteau is located in east France very near the Swiss border and the famous watch valley La Chaux-de-Fonds. Morteau itself has a rich history of watchmaking dating back to 1750 and today is home to a watch museum. The name ”Mortima” was probably inspired by the city name ”Morteau” and the english word ”time”. This a rare fine example of a vintage French diver watch in very good condition, and is running very well. The watch is in nearly perfect looking condition with not visible traces of wear, it's VERY rare to find one of those diver with the chrome plating so well preserved. Please note: the watch looks better in real than in the pictures that have been taken in macro mode so that defaults are amplified. The watch is in good condition considering its age and is fully genuine. The history of maintenance is unknown, but the watch runs with good precision. Please note: Pictures are never retouched.
