The hilt ornaments depict lions, symbolizing bravery and strength. The iron tsuba (guard) showcases a delicate chrysanthemum openwork design, a symbol of longevity and rejuvenation. The collar is crafted in shakudo nanako-ji (a fine-textured blackened metal), adorned with motifs of pine trees, waves, and a treasure ship. Shakudo nanako-ji involves creating small, fish-egg-like patterns on a copper-gold alloy, enhancing the overall aesthetic with a textured, refined look. Each motif carries profound meanings. Pine trees symbolize steadfastness and endurance. Waves represent the ebb and flow of life, as well as resilience. The treasure ship denotes good fortune and prosperity. The sword comes with a copy of its Firearms and Swords Registration Certificate, as the original document will be returned to the authorities.
