One of the most prominent print designers of the shin-hanga movement, Kawase Hasui is possibly the most renowned Japanese landscape artist of the 20th century. Kawase Hasui, a modern printmaker gave primacy to the mood of a place. Especially their persistent interest in depicting light characterizes the dreamlike atmosphere in their prints.
