【Product details】
This exquisite 20th-century Natsume Tea Caddy, crafted by the respected Kyoto artist Rosei, features a stunning Paulownia and Bamboo Makie design on a black lacquered surface. The elegant decoration combines paulownia leaves and bamboo, each symbolizing nobility and resilience respectively.
Significantly, this piece holds historical value as it bears the authentication of the thirteenth Urasenke Grand Master, Sokuchusai (1901-1979), renowned for his contributions to the revival and development of the tea ceremony during Japan's turbulent 20th century. The artist's signature and the Grand Master's seal inside the lid and on the wooden box serve as critical proofs of its authenticity and lineage within the Urasenke tradition, making this Natsume an extremely rare and valuable collectible. Please review the photos for detailed condition.
