Genesis – ..And Then There Were Three... - was originally released in 1978 and marked an important turning point in the band's history. It was the first album recorded after the departure of guitarist Steve Hackett and thus the first release as a trio, consisting of Phil Collins (drums and vocals), Tony Banks (keyboards) and Mike Rutherford (bass and guitar). The album contains a mixture of progressive rock elements, pop structures and gentle ballads. It was also the first Genesis album to more prominently feature Collins' influence as lead vocalist and his signature drumming style. D “Down and Out” – An energetic opener that introduces the listener to the album. "Undertow" - A song with atmospheric keyboard playing and Collins' distinctive voice. "Follow You Follow Me" - This song became a huge hit and helped popularize the album. It's a gentle love ballad. "Many Too Many" - Another gentle ballad with thoughtful lyrics. "Burning Rope" - A longer piece with more progressive elements that doesn't let the band completely forget their roots in progressive rock.
