Producer and exporter of Port Wines, DOC Douro and DOC Moscatel do Douro Wines, of high quality and prestige, highlights not only the results of expansion and modernization over the years but also the preservation of ancestral wisdom from the ground up familiar. WINEMAKERS: Fátima Lopes, César Pinacho & Miguel Martins. AWARDS/RECOMMENDATIONS Gold Medal Concours Mondial de Bruxelles Silver Medal Mundus Vini 88 Points Decanter World Wine Awards 17,5 pontos Revista de Vinhos 16,5 pontos Vinho Grandes Escolhas WINE VARIETIES: Touriga Nacional, Touriga Franca, Tinta Amarela, Sousão & Tinto Cão. VINIFICATION The grapes, coming from a single harvest, are harvested manually into small boxes. Vinification takes place according to the traditional method of producing Port Wine. After partial stalking, the grapes are crushed in stone presses using foot treading. Fermentation occurs with temperature control, being interrupted by the addition of wine spirit. This wine as produced has great aging potential. Aging in large wooden vats, can be bottled between the 4th and 6th year. If stored in ideal conditions, it has an aging potential of 20 years in the bottle. TASTING NOTES Total ruby color. Rich, it exudes an intense aroma of ripe black fruits. Very powerful structure, full of fruit, full-bodied, fat and round. CELLARING This is a traditional "unfiltered" LBV that has been neither cold stabilized nor filtered. The cork is cylindrical, natural, like that of a Vintage PORTO. The bottle must be kept in a horizontal position, at a constant temperature and protected from intense light. Over the years, it is natural for some deposit to form in the bottle and it must be carefully opened and decanted before serving. SERVING Magnificent accompaniment to various types of cheese and desserts rich in chocolate, cream and coffee as well as fresh fruits, red fruits and wild berries, plums and pineapple. It also goes very well with ham and smoked meats. Once opened, the bottle should be consumed within a few days because, even though it had aged in oak casks for some time, oxygenation was very short. Therefore, after opening and decanting (if necessary) the wine will "open" and reach its peak. Over time, it will lose its initial freshness, radically changing its tasting notes. It should be consumed at a temperature between 14ºC and 16ºC.
