Typically crafted from ceramic or metal, olpes were used for pouring and transporting liquids, such as water, wine, or oil, in various contexts including domestic, religious, and ceremonial settings. These vessels often featured intricate decorative motifs and were essential items in daily life and ritual practices of ancient society.
