A fine leaf from a Kashmiri Qu'ran Koran scribed in North India C1830. The leaf contains v.6-10 of Chapter 14, Ibrahim (Abraham), in which he invokes God to protect his descendants from idolatry after settling in Mecca. The leaf consists of 13 lines of scripture in black nashki and an elaborate illuminated marginal device which serves to mark the 10th verse division of the Chapter. Simple gold 'aya' mark the individual verses. Each line is separated by a gold band. Diacritical markings in red provide devotional advice to the reader. The folio is in good condition.
