This is from an old Japanese house. The existence of this type of hat in Japan is rare. Japan has changed from the Edo period to the Meiji period and has adopted many wonderful European cultures. In Japan at that time, Europe was a very advanced country, far ahead of its time.
European-style parties and clothing styles are one of them.
Since the Meiji period, hats imported from England and other European countries were used in Japan. Hats made by Japanese manufacturers, such as this one, are rare.
"Teikoku Seihatsu Kabushiki Kaisha” was a company active from the Meiji era to the early Showa era. "Matsuzakaya", the retailer, is a long-established high-class department store in Japan. These items were special products for the elite and gentleman class of the time, and are of great historical value.
Box has a little damage,but the hat is in clean and very beautiful condition.
