Nr. 91073845
Distilled at Strathclyde in 1990, This Single Cask, Single Grain whisky has been aged for 32 years. Now bottled in 2023 by Duncan Taylor as a part of ''The Octave'' series.
The Octave Collection is extensive with something for all tastes, be it a single malt, a single grain or a blended malt whisky. Featured distilleries include Aultmore, Bhunnahabhain, Brackla, Caol Ila, Glenallachie, Glen Moray, Highland Park, Miltonduff and Tobermory.
Tasting notes :
"Vanilla and honey lead the aroma, accompanied by caramel syrup, woody notes, and a hint of orange. The palate mirrors the nose with creamy, honeyed oak and a touch of gentle spice and white pepper. Raisins, sweet cake, and caramelized apples add complexity. An aftertaste of burnt sugar and oak spice lingers."
About this Duncan Taylor Octave :
This is a 32 year old Strathclyde distilled in 1990. Duncan Taylor moved this single grain whisky into a small sherry octave cesk for a nine month finishing period. These small casks (around 60 litres) have a big impact on flavour. And being a small cask, it only produced 85 bottles of this very exclusive whisky.
Word whisky award 2024 winner.
