Carsa-8 is born from the first aging Clairin: an extraordinary result obtained from the distillation of Cristalline sugar cane, which thrives in the Saint-Michel-de-l'Attalaye plateau, in the uncontaminated nature of Haiti. Distilled by Michel Sajous in 2016, it was matured for five years in the barrels that hosted the legendary Caroni rum, in the tropical climate. Subsequently, the distillate continued to refine in foudre, therefore starting from 2021, and then finally bottled at full strength in January 2024.

This single cask represents a special edition in honor of Velier Live, specifically chosen to offer an exclusive tasting experience that reflects the craftsmanship of Michel Sajous and the exceptional contribution of the Haitian environment to the aging process.

Although still relatively young, the aged Sajous can already be considered an object to collect, as Luca Gargano himself said:

“Probably in the future Sajous will be considered a sort of new Caroni, not because it will no longer exist, but because, when its aged ones reach twelve or thirteen years of maturation, they will be exceptional rums, and there will also be a hunt for first editions like this."
