Despite being born into a middle-class family and creating a place for himself within the affluent art industry, Jean- Michel Basquiat experienced racial injustices throughout his life. Basquiat chose to express this duality of his identity in his 1984 'Self Portrait'. Basquiat achieved this through his use of colour, depicting a black figure against a white background and contrasted blocks of vivid red paint with brushstrokes of cool blue undertones.

Nice print. Quick delivery. But the shipping price is way above actual cost. Even if the information was available at time of auction, it is a tricky way to set a reserve price.

The item was very badly wrapped, it's edges have been damaged, luckily it is not torn as such, but please, be alot more prudent with wrapping future objects - perhaps use some bubble protection!
