Japanese photographer Ichiro Tsuda's collection Okuno Hosomichi, 101, was born in Otaru, Hokkaido in 1942, graduated from the Faculty of Economics at Chuo University, and studied under Gen Otsuka, a journalist active before and after the war with the Asahi Shimbun newspaper and considered one of the three members of Asahi. He became a freelance photographer, working mainly in film stills, and his career spanned five decades. In the late 1980s, he won the Ina Nobuo Award and the Domon Ken Award. This book is a compilation from the series ‘The Zone of No-Names’, for which he won the Ina Nobuo Prize in the late 1980s. This book is a collection of unique works that interweave humanity and eroticism in images with a ‘spirituality’, as Jun Miki calls it.
