Tengu Beku Sake Cup - 寺 Signatured - Ceașcă - Japanese Mythological Story on the Back - Porțelan - 天狗盃 可盃 牛若丸と弁慶

There are no visible cracks or chips, and the cup is easy to hold. The surface of the cup depicts Ushiwakamaru jumping over the spire of a bridge.

The violent Benkei had a burning desire to steal a thousand swords, so he attacked passersby and stole their swords until he had 999.
Then, just when he was one sword away from reaching his goal, he met Ushiwakamaru, who was passing over Gojo Bridge playing a flute.
Benkei attacked Ushiwakamaru, but Ushiwakamaru flew over the railing and was finally killed in return.
It is said that Benkei surrendered and became Ushiwakamaru's retainer.

*A ``Beku cup'' is a sake cup that cannot be put down. In particular, if you look at the Tengu container, you will notice that it is shaped so that it is physically impossible to pour alcohol into it. In other words, you can only pour the sake while holding the container, and you cannot set it down until you drink it all.

*Tengu (/ˈtɛŋɡuː/ TENG-goo; Japanese: 天狗, pronounced [teŋɡɯ], lit. 'Heavenly Dog') are a type of legendary creature found in Shinto belief. They are considered a type of yōkai (supernatural beings) or Shinto kami (gods or spirits).
Buddhism long held that the Tengu were disruptive demons and harbingers of war.
