Schliemann's Mycenae, published in 1877, was written in eight weeks and represented a daily record of his excavations. Like the rest of his books, it was written in German and almost immediately translated into French and English. The English publication came out simultanuously in England by John Murray and in America by Scribner, Armstrong and Company in 1878 - originele band professioneel hersteld, 24 x 18 cm.
'Mycenae', representing more than 700 types of the objects found in the Royal Sepulchres of Mycenae and elsewhere in the excavations - LXVIII (68), 384 pp. , 549 engravings between the text + 21 Plates (4 coloured) representing more than 151 engravings + 8 Plans A, B, BB, C, D, E, F, G.

The German archaeologist and excavator Heinrich Schliemann (1822-1890) excavated at Troy, Mycenae, and Tiryns. He is often considered to be the modern discoverer of prehistoric or Bronze Age Greece.
