Impressive, capital Chinese bronze figure of a standing bodhisattva Guanyin, revered as the Goddess of Mercy, also recognized as Avalokiteshvara or Kannon. The figure is masterfully crafted as a single piece from dark brown patinated bronze and signed on the bottom, with her flowing robe exquisitely adorned with gilded scrolling foliage. Her meticulous updo is elegantly veiled by a gently draped cloth. Guanyin's expression is one of profound tranquillity and meditation, her gaze cast downwards.
