- A 1972 original First UK Press (52 years young) of Gentle Giants album ‘Octopus’, released on Vertigo 6360 080 with first press matrix runouts 1Y//1 – 2Y//1, with inner picture gatefold sleeve with lyrics & credits, first edition with ‘Alucard Music’ on Vertigo ‘swirl’ labels. In exceptional condition! The pictures are an essential part of the LP-description, so watch them carefully. Cover: Excellent- (small sticker) - Vinyl: Near Mint !

‘Octopus’ was Gentle Giants last album with founding member Phil Shulman and the first with drummer John Weathers. The album’s lyrics are generally based on literature and philosophy: ‘The Advent of Panurge’ is inspired by the books of Gargantua and Pantagruel by François Rabelais, ‘A Cry for Everyone’ by the work and beliefs of the French-Algerian writer Albert Camus. ProgMagazine listed ‘Octopus’ at number 65 in ‘The 100 Greatest Prog Albums Of All Time’.

This is an original 1st UK album every true classic progrock vinyl-lover wants. A fantastic collector’s item! Don’t miss out!
