【Important notes】

・International Buyers: Import duties, taxes, and charges are not included in the item price or shipping charges. These charges are the buyer’s responsibility.
・Please check with your country’s customs office to determine what these additional costs will be prior to bidding/buying. These duties are paid to your country's customs office and not to us. Prompt payment of these fees is necessary to ensure delivery of your item.
・We deeply value your understanding regarding the blade's export process. The duration to secure an export permit might extend up to a month, and shipping, based on the destination, could take an additional month. In some instances, sea freight may be chosen, which might lengthen the delivery period to 2-3 months.
・Considering the diligence required for export permit procedures, we'd like to emphasize the importance of commitment after purchase. If the auction is annulled post-confirmation, there's a need to retract the said permit. In such situations, to cover administrative efforts, a fee equating to 10% of the auction's final amount would be requested via PayPal.
・We kindly request bids from those who fully acknowledge these conditions. Please be informed that the original registration document is required to be returned to official authorities, so a copy will be provided with the sword.

・Austria, Belgium, and UK prohibits the import of swords, so please refrain from bidding.
・ Due to shipping restrictions, this item cannot be sent to Spain; Spanish bidders are kindly requested to refrain from bidding.

【Product details】

This Edo period katana comes with a full mounting and is housed in a black lacquered scabbard. The tsuba (sword guard) features an openwork design of plum blossoms, a symbol of perseverance, resilience, and renewal in Japanese culture, as the plum tree is known to bloom early in the spring even in cold weather. The tsuba bears the signature "Ikkan" (一貫), likely indicating the maker's name.

A copy of the Firearms and Swords Registration Certificate is included, as the original document will be returned to the authorities. The certificate details are as follows: Registration Number Akita Prefecture No. 31813; Type: Katana; Length: 62.6 cm; Curvature: 1.1 cm; Peg Holes: 2; Inscription: Unsigned; Date of Issue: July 10, 2018.

The blade has minor scratches and areas of rust. The tsuba and metal fittings show signs of green rust and discoloration. The scabbard has slight rust and some scratches from age and use. One of the decorative menuki (handle ornaments) has a noticeable chip. The stand is not included. Please carefully refer to the photos for an accurate assessment of the sword’s condition.

Length of the blade: 83 cm
Total length including scabbard: 101 cm
