A very elegant Chinese blue and white porcelain two-person 'Fish' tea-set consisting of a pair of cups with saucer dishes. Total: 4 pieces. China, late 19th century, Guangxu (光緒, 1875-1908) reign period.. Very good example with great, extensive decor!

Dishes finely potted, scalloped (flower shaped) rim molded in flower petals, Incised decor of petals around the foot-rim. Fine quality od painting, central medallion with a fish surrounded by a circle, followed by four fish, all on ground of aquatic plants, surrounded by the double circle. Border with thirty one (31) petal-shaped panels with flowers, followed by a wide band with foliage, flowers and fruits next to the edge. Three flower sprays sprays to the bottom. Inscribed to bases with Kangxi underglaze blue Lingzhi fungus marks in the double cirrle.

Cups finely potted with round walls and slightly everted scalloped (flower shaped) top-rim, decorated to the exterior with four fish and aquatic plants under the band of petal-shaped reserves. Interior with a centered medallion with fish and aquatic plants, four flower sprays on walls, band with foliage and fruits under the top-rim. Marked to the base with an Kangxi Lingzhi fungus mark within double ring, but 19th century.

Dimensions:
cups - diameter: 7,9 / 8,0 cm; height – 5,0 / 4,9 cm. Weight – 64 / 63 g.
dishes - diameter: 13,5 / 13,6 cm; height - 2,0 / 2,2 cm. Weight 80 / 88 g.

Conditions report:
- plates in excellent condition with few frits to the edge only;
- one cup with tiny fritting and tiny chips to the top-rim, one with associated very short, almost invisible hairline. Other cup with minor fritting and two chips to the top-rim, both with associated hardly visible hairlines;
- all: minor firing faults. Strong white light tested. Check pictures for details.

The pictures are in such bad condition and not worth to hang them up .The damages like this were not visible on the photos . the frames are worth perhaps € 20,- . I regret I paid so much money .

Prachtige klok maar deze was op het verkeerde adres toegekomen , gelukkig heeft deze persoon zo eerlijk geweest om deze op het juiste adres te brengen. De klok was heel goed verpakt waarvoor men dank.
