Street scene before a mosque in Istanbul was executed ca.1920s by Polish-French orientalist painter Jozef Pawlikiewicz , who travelled to Turkey, where he created a lot of views of Instanbul on the turn of 20th century. His Istanbul watercolours regulary sold in Polish and French auctions. Inscription: titled and and signed "Stambul. J.Pawlikiewicz" lower left and titled with name of the street in French:"Rue d ..Ey..li" ,lower right, on the reverse of watercolour - old memory inscription in German: "Gruss aus Konstantinopel ( English: greeting from Contantinoples from your Pohly Angelides).

Inscription: signed lower left.

Technique: watercolour on paper. original period matt and frame.

Measurements: unframed w 6 1/3" x h 9" (16 x 23 cm); framed w 11 1/2" x 15 1/3" (29 x 39 cm)

Condition: in good condition

Très mauvaise expérience. Cadre complètement abîmé sur les côtés non indiqué lors de la vente. Il ne veut absolument rien faire et passe par mail. JE NE RECOMMANDE VRAIMENT PAS CE VENDEUR DÉSAGREABLE.

Be careful, professional extortionist! Having bought a beautiful oriental portrait from the 19th century in an original gold frame for €500, he found fault with minor delamination on the side of the frame, received a discount from Satavika and also tried to get some of the money back from me, instead of canceling the deal, as I suggested to him.

Zeer goed verpakt, ik schrok wel even omdat ik tape over het schilderij zag, maar dat bleek op glas te zitten, hetgeen niet in te tekst stond. Verder alles perfect. Heel blij mee.

Glass protects the painting from dirt. If you decide to remove the glass, Inhope , it won't be a difficult job for you. Best regards

Very lovely painting, shipped quickly and well packed. The only thing is that the clips to attach the painting to the frame are broken! Now I have to figure out how to fix this.

Desculpe. Antes do transporte, a lona estava boa e fizemos uma embalagem boa e segura. Provavelmente aconteceu porque o processo de transporte foi muito difícil.

Snel verstuurd door de verkoper. Zeer goed ingepakt. Prachtig schilderij!
