About Mimuro Kinyou 三室金羊:
In August 1958, Mimuro Kinyou played a pivotal role in the founding of the Japan Comprehensive Calligraphy Academy (Nihon Sogo Shogeiin). In September 1965, under the authorization of the Ministry of Education, the academy was officially established as "The Japan Comprehensive Calligraphy Academy, Incorporated Association," with Mimuro Kinyou serving as its first director.
This elegant hanging scroll features a piece by the artist Mimuro Kinyou, displaying the characters "齊清" ("Seisei"). The phrase can be interpreted as "purity" or "serenity," conveying a sense of calm and clarity.
The bold brushstrokes and the minimalist composition highlight the artist's skill in traditional Japanese calligraphy. The scroll is mounted with a sophisticated combination of beige and dark blue brocade, enhancing the visual impact of the artwork.
This piece is in excellent condition, with wooden scroll ends (jikusaki). It also comes with a wooden box.
