Yoshitoshi Tsukioka, a disciple of Gekko Ogata and Fuko Matsumoto. Born to Yoshiharu Habu, who runs Hatagoya Omiya in Nihonbashi, Tokyo, and his mother, Yasushi Sakamaki's second son. At the age of 12, he studied pottery painting for three years with his uncle Miyauchi Hayashiya, who lives in Yokohama, and also studied with Masaaki Yuki at the Tokyo Prefectural Painting School. In 1887, his mother, Tai, remarried with Yoshitoshi, so he became a disciple in Yoshitoshi and called him Toshihisa. Then, around 1889, he became a disciple of Ogata Gekko and became the name of cultivation. , Became a disciple of Fuko Matsumoto(松本楓湖) Kaede and used the name of the Kohan(湖畔).
