A large Egyptian light green faience amulet of the great mother Isis of the New Kingdom period ca. 1539-1075 BCE. Isis was the goddess of healing and magic, she played a crucial role in the ancient Egyptian religious beliefs. She is known today by her Greek name Isis. However, the ancient Egyptians called her Aset. Her name translates to “Queen of the Throne” which is reflected in her headdress, which is typically a throne. Condition: The amulet has a crack line just at the loop level but hardly visible as it had been restored otherwise superbe and rare.
