Vinho Verde Wine Brandy
DESCRIPTION
It was the combination of love for the land with the fruit of hard work that, in 1926, with D. Lúcia Borges Vinagre having inherited from her father, António Borges, Quinta de Santa Maria, in S. Miguel da Carreira, in Barcelos, came to be. beginning of strong wine development. After an innovative land consolidation process that continues to this day, the property's Vinho Verde began to be bottled, a pioneering activity in the Region.
In 1939, Quinta do Tamariz was acquired, equipped with a manor house, which became D. Lúcia's residence. In 1965, the Sociedade Agrícola da Quinta de Santa Maria S.A. was created, which operates the two farms. Founded by D. Lúcia's son, the architect António Vinagre, the Society is today managed by his grandson, Dr. António Borges Vinagre. From 1981 onwards, a vast program of restructuring the vineyards began, giving priority to the noble white grape variety Loureiro, recommended for the Atlantic strip of the Vinhos Verdes Region. Later, the white varieties Arinto and Alvarinho and the red varieties Vinhão, Borraçal and Touriga Nacional were added.
Our history, itself made up of stories, is the guarantor of our heritage. Along with the challenges of modernity, tradition lives with us and ensures the quality of our heritage.

VINIFICATION
It's the only Loureiro brandy, with mention of caste and year, in the market. Wine, of excellent quality and without any addition of sulfurous, was distilled in 2001 by the charante method, with double distillation, and the heart of the brandy was placed in a small barrel of Limousin French oak, with half toast and left there to rest and aging. 15 years later the bottling was made, in a small edition of 600 bottles of 500 ml.
TASTING NOTES
Clean and brilliant, golden color with bronze nuances. Very intense and harmonious scent, where internship wood notes can be found, with freshness notes for present acidity, to the mixture with toasted dried fruits. It features a smooth, untuous texture, with very elegant ending, elevating our thinking to the caste that gave it.
SERVING
Ideal as digestive and also to follow desserts, especially the sweetest. Store in a cool, dry place, protected from light and temperature fluctuations. Serve at a temperature lower than 20ºC. Consume in moderation.
