The book is printed on Abbey wove paper. It is bound in cloth blocked with a design by the artist-illustrator.

"Germinal" is one of the novels in Zola's series "Les Rougon-Macquart" and it is considered Zola's masterpiece and one of the most significant novels in the French tradition The novel tells an uncompromisingly realistic story of a coal-miners' strike in northern France in the 1860s.

The book has 483 pages. Its dimensions are - without slipcase: height 24.1 cm, length 16.3 cm, width: 4.6 cm; with slipcase on: height 25 cm, length 17.3 cm, width: 4.8 cm.

The book is in mint, pristine condition without any faults at view. It is unread, it has no wear to the cover and spine and no wear to pages. It has the boards in blue cloth with black, grey and white illustration to the cover and spine. It completely maintains the very high standard levels of Folio Society publications.
