This auction features a stunning ukiyo-e woodblock print triptych from Meiji Era by the renowned artist Utagawa Kunisada III, also known as Baidō Kunimasa. Utagawa Kunisada III (1848-1920), born Takeuchi Eikyu, was a prominent ukiyo-e artist of the Meiji period. He studied under the first Utagawa Kunisada and later became a disciple of the second Kunisada. In 1889, he adopted the name Kunisada III and was also known by the pseudonyms Ichijusai, Kochorō, and Baidō Kunimasa. His works are celebrated for their depiction of the modernizing culture of the Meiji era, particularly in the realm of Kabuki theater.

The prints depict the famous Kabuki actors in dynamic poses, showcasing their expressive features and elaborate costumes. The background is adorned with beautiful cherry blossoms, adding to the scene's elegance and cultural significance. The vibrant colors and intricate details highlight the artistry and craftsmanship of Utagawa Kunisada III.
