Ancient Egyptian faience amulet made between the Third Intermediate Period (1077 BC 664 BC) to the Late Period (664 BC - 332 BC) in Egypt. It's a very rare bead in the shape of rosette with a beautiful natural light blue colour and drilled hole for suspension.
Amulets fulfilled an important role in ancient Egyptian culture, most of them were worn for a protection against evil spirits and to ensure good fortune.
Rosette pattern have a long history in Egyptian art. Beside jewellery, it was also used as a mysterious and luxury decorative motif in the interiors of ancient palaces (for example Pharaoh Ramesses III palace at Tell-el-Yahudiyeh).
Excellent Condition - intact, well-preserved
Dimensions: 9 mm (W) x 8 mm (H)
