His real and childhood names were Momotaro, Hyakutaro, and later Seken. Called Hyakusen, then Shonen, and by other names Loryukan and Kakujuken. Studied under his father, Hyakunen, and was active in the Society for the Promotion of Painting. Exhibited at the Paris Exposition and other exhibitions, and was highly regarded both in Japan and abroad. Specializes mainly in portraits and flower-and-bird paintings. His work is characterized by bold and vigorous brushwork. Worked as an instructor at the Kyoto Prefectural School of Painting, and after retiring, opened the Shonen Juku. His students included Uemura Shoen. He was a major figure in the Kyoto art world at that time. Died in 1918 at the age of 69. Sanrei(?-?) ・The bio of the author is unknown.
