Boro(Ranru) is old cloth or rags. It also refers to worn-out and torn clothing, or clothing that is full of patches. In Japan, cotton did not become popular among the general public until the Edo period (1603-1868). Cotton, which was precious at that time, was carefully used until the end, even if the fabric was torn, by patching it up. This textile is made of six pieces of indigo-dyed cloth pieced together. Japanese indigo-dyed cloth develops a variety of colors over time that cannot be achieved with chemical dyes. Japan blue is one of the beauties of Japan. This textile was used in Futon (Japanese-style bedding). Boro have a history and way of life of farmers that make us feel wabi-sabi. Size: Width: 176cm Length: 200cm Condition: There are several holes. Other than that, it is in very good condition. Please see pictures detail.
