Boro(Ranru) is old cloth or rags.
It also refers to worn-out and torn clothing, or clothing that is full of patches.
In Japan, cotton did not become popular among the general public until the Edo period (1603-1868).

This textile is made of six pieces of indigo-dyed cloth pieced together.
