This statue, crafted by the renowned Nitten sculptor Saegusa Sotaro (1911–2006), captures the delicate beauty and grace of the female form. Born on the island of Shodoshima in Kagawa Prefecture, Sotaro graduated from the Tokyo School of Fine Arts in 1935. He balanced his career between teaching at the Yokkaichi City School of Commerce and Industry in Mie Prefecture and actively participating in exhibitions such as the Nitten and the Shin-Kosei Society. Later, he served as an assistant professor and professor at Nagoya University of Arts from 1970 onwards.
