The striking Blanche series, comprising elegant pendants in two sizes and a matching floor lamp, was designed by award-winning Danish design duo Bjørn & Balle from "Danish Design for the People (DFTP)", and produced by Nordlux. Bjørn & Balle are known for their striking pieces that combine minimalistic Scandinavian design with modern international influences. For auction a pair of Blanche 42 hanging lamps. These sturdy, high-quality, well-finished lamps are pristine examples of the larger Blanche pendants. They are made of fine brushed brass with an opalized plastic lampshade (42 cm in diameter; 14.5 cm in height). Each lamp comes with a built-in, permanent, high-illumination, low energy use (efficiency class E) LED light source. The lamp emits a pleasant 360°, bright (2900 Kelvin), warm white (14.6 Watt; 2900 lumen) light, illuminating both upwards and downwards. The light source is dimmable when used with an appropriate wall dimmer-switch. The pendants come with fitted 3 metre long, white textile covered cables, allowing the distance from the lamps to the ceiling to be adjusted to up to 3 metres. The IP rating is IP20, making the pendants suitable for indoor use in non-wet surroundings. The fittings are rated Class 2, double isolated, so they can be operated without the need for an earth wire. The pendants are unused, in completely new condition and come in their original packaging. This has only been opened for the purpose of photography. The lamps are in perfect new condition without marks, blemishes, dents or bumps. A ceiling plate/bracket is included in each box, together with a white plastic ceiling cone and an instruction leaflet with details on setting-up and maintenance of the lamp (see photos). These pendants are no longer in production, but this is a great chance to acquire a pair of these beautiful, well-made lamps showing the best of modern Danish design.
